Weekend, please stay!

I am officially in love with holiday weekends. My husband let me sleep in on Saturday and Sunday AND Monday. I also got to take a nap on Monday. Ooooh my goodness was it nice. I told him for payback I will let him sleep in next weekend both days. You see, this is how we negotiate- sleep has the currency of gold in our household. (Oh and by sleeping in I mean until 8 or 9am...the college version of me would laugh at this).

So beyond sleeping we were fairly busy this weekend. Pretty typical of holiday weekends...you need a holiday from the holiday to recoup. On Friday we had dinner with my parents, my brother, his fiance and her family. Dan's brother drove up and after dinner we hung with him at the house. They watched the Cavs game while I chilled out, all snuggled up in bed. Oh sweet sweet relaxation.

Saturday we had a small part-ay at our house. Family first for some pizza, then friends for some drinks. I bought something I have been thinking about buying for a while and it was kind of glorious. As you can image, this purchase made my decision about running a 5 mile run the next morning. Yeah, that didn't happen.

Sunday was the big birthday day. My most adorable niece turned three. I held her when she was a little less then a day old and since then I have been convinced that she is pretty much the coolest.

The second photo is of my nephew. They are both so darn cute.

On an exciting note, my brother and his fiance are finally and officially back living in the great state of O-HI-O. Yay!

I love the holiday weekend too...especially the ones that extend my weekend to 3 days! Love the blog...I just started reading your older posts too!

Sleeping in for me means getting out of bed at 7am instead of 6:30...lol. Unfortunately, I'm a Type A freak of nature who has a hard time unleashing my grasp on everything and allowing others to take the reins, which makes it hard for me to truly enjoy the time Daddy spends one-on-one with our girl. I think it's time to revisit my psychosis if it means I might be able to get our bed to myself a few hours a week...lol.
