Baby wearing: The new black!

Melrose is around the 75% percentile, give or take a few, for weight and especially height. She proudly boasts the most adorable and raspberry blow-able tummy. Because of this and her cloth diaper wearing (which makes her looks like baby J-Lo) proves to be an growing challenge for us to find things that fit her. Not just clothes, but other things like baby carriers. You see, when you have cute, pudgy thunder thighs, they don't exactly fit into the ridiculously small leg holes in these craptastic carriers.

And by craptastic carriers I mean the Snugli. That thing is useless. Not only does it not fit my child, but it literally encourages her to lean back so that the entire time I carry her I am forced to lean forward and have a neck and back ache. Sweet.

Oh and did I mention I cannot vacuum or do any other houseowork unless she is in the carrier?

Double sweet.

So off I went to the haven of all WAHMs...the internet! I researched and found a pretty cool carrier that not only accomodates chubbier babies BUT a carrier we can use until she is a toddler. Mooooooney!

I just got it in today and I am so excited to use it. I tried it once and she seemed pretty happy in it. It was fairly comfortable for me too. I mean, wearing a 22 pound backpack is never really that comfortable, but it feels like it is going to be as comfortable as it gets. I mean, it is about 2329823983856627623 times better then the Snugli. Oh and I almost forgot to tell you what I got! A Patapum Toddler Carrier.

Now all I have to do is find more pants and t-shirt that fit this tall baby with a J-Lo booty and I am golden.

I've got a few carriers that I love, but of course, my kiddo's normal body temp runs so hot she'd be comfortable on the face of the sun - so keeping her close to my body while I start sweatin' it up doing housework isn't tolerated well. But I have a Beco Butterfly II which is fabu - TONS of legroom (and my daughter was cursed with my arse and thighs so there had better be ample room) and it's very comfortable to wear.

As for clothes to fit her J.Lo... I hear ya on that, and mine is tall too - 95th for height, 75th for weight. I go with The Children's Place in one size larger than she is supposed to be wearing. I'm not huge on their style or fabric patterns, but hey, I do whatever works...lol.
