Cloth diapering.

In the last few weeks I have decided to cloth diaper my little one's bum. It was a scary transition met with much disapproval (my mother). "Are you suuuuure you want to use cloth diapers?"..."Are you suuuuuure this is a good idea?"..."Are you suuuuure this isn't going to be more expensive?"... Yes, yes and YES.

So we have been using all-in-one cloth diapers (bumGenius), but thanks to some inspiration out there, I will also be trying prefolds soon. I am going to use wool soakers with the prefolds. I am going to make a few from recylced sweaters and I am going to have my very talented sorority sister who lives in California knit me one.

So far everything has been going great with the cloth. They are just as easy as disposables and, dare I say it, possibly more convienant because I am not forced to go to Costco (I hate that place) and weave through millions of pushy people to buy the overpriced (but the most reasonably priced) box of diapers. Then stand in line forever with a figity baby who has zero patience (like her mom) for lines longer then 5 minutes long. This process ends up taking at least an hour, costing $50 plus tax for the diaps AND costing us gas money to drive 15 minutes to and from Costco.

It is sooooooo much easier to stay at home and just wash the damn diapers.
