White type on black backgrounds.

Somewhat random, but certainly necessary. Why do some insist on using a black background and white font/type in a word intensive website/blog? OMG. My eyes hurt for days after reading this mess. Now, I am definitely a culprit of using a black background on my own company's website, BUT I am a photographer and it helps to highlight the photos! And I don't have much type beyond one page out of the entire site. So there.

I would just like to ask anyone who has a website or blog that is word intensive to please consider using a light background with dark type. Please. I am seeing spots right now and it hurts my head.

If you choose to ignore my random rant then I am ok with that too. But I may choose to stop looking at websites that are culprits of this thorn in my side.
