But the silver lining was that Saturday was a nice day to beat all nice days. 72 degrees. Sunny. Happy faces.
The little one, the husband and myself met my parents in town for lunch and to walk around to see the cone-lickers, stroller walkers (including us) and dog walkers. I wore shorts for the first time this year which was super sweet because I got to show off my super sexy alabaster white legs, unkept feet/toes and unskilled shaving abilities.
Melrose also wore a pair of shorts/wool soakers that I made for her. They aren't lanolized yet, so right now they are just a cute pair of shorts that fit ever so nicely over her already waterproof AIO cloth diaps.
It is getting increasingly more difficult to get Melrose to look at the camera when taking photographs of her because she is distracted by ev-er-y-thing. Seriously. When she is on the rug she will somehow squirm her way over to the one tiny speck of whatever and sit/lay/lean/hover by this new great adventure she has found. She will play with it in between her fingers and then do the obligitory in-the-mouth move in which she quickly tries to shove it in her mouth for safe keeping and good eats. Outside presents an even more delectible environment where she was shoving bark/sticks/leaves/dirt in her mouth.
As you can see in the above photo she has a stick in her hand just waiting to be eaten.
Sunday was a mild disaster. My dad picked up Melrose so that the hubsy and I could go out to eat with his family for a birthday lunch. Mmmm. At a hibatchi restaurant. Double mmm.
Not so much.
We went. We ate. We left. And then I got sick twice on the way home, then at my parents house and then several times when we got back to my house. I don't want to give TMI, but lets just say I had issues with both ends. I know, enough said. Blah. I don't want to think, hear, smell or look at Asian cuisine for a while.
