Where did Melrose go?

Because the toddler we took to the mall tonight was DEFINITELY not our Melrose. This toddler sat, patiently, in her stroller as we walked around the mall. She ate the food we gave her without throwing a huge fit, demanding something else. She didn't protest once about being at the mall or wanting to run around like a crazy person while we pushed the stroller behind her. She didn't whine.

This obviously was not our child. Our Melrose is patient in a stroller for about 10-15 minutes and that is only if we are walking at a brisk pace, making sure she is stimulated every second of those 10-15 minutes. Ir we dare to walk into a store she grabs, whines and points at everything she sees- demanding that she be able to hold/bite/destroy it. After she eats the paper tag off of several garments, she will then demand to be taken out of her stroller so she can run around the store. Run around and try to hide from us, scaring the living crap out of me at every turn if she isn't in my eye sight.

When we try to go eat, she hates whatever we present to her and, once again, her patience with eating grows thin after about 3 minutes- leaving Dan and me shoving the rest of our food in our faces so we can keep on moving.

But not tonight. She was the perfect little angel. We have no clue why. I asked Dan if he slipped her an elephant tranquilizer before we left. Santa's present has come early to us this year! Ha.
