A baby.

Part Two: A Baby.

On a happier note, yes, we are pregnant again!

I know you aren't supposed to tell people until you are like 12 weeks, but hell, I am terrible at keeping secrets AND, if you are lucky enough to see me peak from my cave within the next few months, the greenish sickly look on my face would reveal it all.

If you followed my last blog you know I was deathly ill when I was pregnant with Melly B. Sick and stuck in bed until I was 15-17 weeks. Throwing up, dehydration, trips to the ER...the works. It was beyond suck-tastic. Some may ask why I would even venture getting pregnant again. And I'll tell you why...because it is soooo worth it. My daughter is the coolest (ie: born with natural mohawk) and would be sick a million times over to have her in this world.

So just to answer many questions people have been asking:

Q. So, uh, was this planned (aka was this a big old accident or what)?

A. Well, we both know how babies are made and we both know how to stop the making of babies, so yes, it was planned. We kind of let nature take its course and figured whenever it happened would be the right time. Well, as the fertility gods would have it, that nature taking it's course thing happened in about a month. About the same amount of time we tried to conceive baby numero uno.

Q. How far along are you?

A. We are 6 1/2 weeks. Very veeeery early in the pregnancy. My husband literally cannot keep a secret for one second. As soon as I told him he couldn't contain his excitement and ran around like a chicken with it's head cutoff and told 4 coworkers. I think by day two his entire building knew. My mom has the same problem. I literally negotiated some sweet babysitting time with her, but it came with the stipulation that she was able to tell anyone she pleased.

Q. Do you want a boy or girl?

A. I honestly don't care. Dan will tell you in a second he wants another girl. Mel is such a joy and he likes the idea of having a house full of crazy ladies (me being the leader of these crazies). I am used to girls, so I think another girl might be easier...? But I think a little boy would be so cool too. Just for the record, I totally think I am having another girl, but soon enough we will know.

Q. Uhh, how far apart in age will these kids be?

A. A little over a year and a half...around 19 months apart. Yes, I know we are a little crazy for having them so close together, but oh well! As they get older it will be nice to have a playmate so close in age and you all will be jealous of it. Ha. It is going to be super hard at first, but let me just tell ya...EVERYTHING with children is hard. If it isn't one thing it is another, so we will figure it out.

Q. Do you have names picked out yet?

A. Holy moly. Let us get used to the idea we are having another kid first! Just kidding. We do have a few ideas, but are going to wait to find out the sex before we deliberate. Last time I was mildly obsessed with names, but this time we are going to play it fast and loose.

Q. Oh boy, are you sick again?

A. Yes. I'm on some anti-nausea stuff that makes my unbearable hyperemesis more like normal morning sickness, so that is good. I'm scared it is going to get worse, but at least I have my retired daddio to help out. He is the best. Melrose loves him and would be more then happy to play with him then play with her lifeless, sick momma.

Any additional questions can be submitted via comments or e-mail :)

So, we are super excited about this. Babies are wonderful. Children are wonderful. Being a mom is the best and I cannot believe I will have the privelage to be a mom to two children.

WARNING: This was written while super tired and I didn't spell check or reread any of it. I am pregnant and thus my brain has temporarily stopped working. Don't judge me if I don't make sense.
