New things.

So here is a quick snapshot of what is new in my life since last posting in December:

1. I am currently trying out cloth diapers and by trying out I mean I just made a significant investment in them so that means no more disposables.

2. My daughter (who will be wearing this soft new diapers) is a whole new baby. She can sit and roll and is trying to walk. She babbles in babytalk all of the time (mostly to her best friend Curious George) and is a mini person with big personality.

3. I have stopped eating meat because of a documentary "Death on a Factory Farm" - I still eat fish and am contemplating eating kosher meat. But, for the time being, no meat at all. It feels great, actually, because it forces me to eat a little healthier and my body is reacting accordingly.

4. Over the winter I went snowboarding several times and loved it. I cannot wait to get Melrose involved. I pray that she likes the outdoors as much as Dan and I do.

5. I have finished all necessary class in pursuit of my second degree and now have to wait until the fall to finish my field hours. I am already dreading spending time away from my little one.

6. I am going to be an aunt, again. So far we have four cousins all within 2 1/2 years of each other and now we will be adding a fifth cousin, all five within 3 1/2 years from one another. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a girl.

7. We started and are continuing to participate in mom and baby yoga which we both love. Through this Melrose has made her first friend. A friend who is two days older then her that likes to drool, growl and crawl. They laugh and talk to each other and it is wonderful to watch.

8. I joined a moms group to try to make other mom-friends. I am the first of my circle to have a baby and although I do try to drop hints for them to have children, I don't see this in the near future for any of them.

9. I have been experimenting with my camera a lot lately and also made some fairly awesome purchases of new equipment. Two new lenses and one new camera body. Next on my list is a second flash and a bracket.

10. I have missed writing in the blog and decided it was a perfect time to come back and rejoin the bloggies.
